Because so many people really enjoyed this event and due to popular demand, this event will be on again on Friday the 2nd of November from 10:00 to 17:00 and Saturday the 3rd of November from 09:00 to 19:00, at Sandringham, which is close to Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. It is also the forerunner to the World Dairy Summit, which will be held in Cape Town for the very first time.

Things you can look forward to are watching the cows being milked, the Woolworths dairy pantry where you can learn how to churn butter or make your own yoghurt among other events. There will be an SA milk Goat national championship, the ABSA dairy queen of the year, the master dairy farmer of the year and the Cape Holstein Youth Show Championships where experienced learners in three age categories dressed to the nines, will prepare and show their animals.

Not forgetting something for the little ones, the Dairy Fairy will be on hand with fun and games all day long, among the entertainment, they’ll be able to milk mock-cows and enjoy dog jumping colouring in and puzzles.

This is really a family day outing where the children get to learn that milk doesn’t come from a bottle and butter doesn’t come from the supermarket.

This country experience will cost you only R50 – tickets will be available at the gates.
